Every system has been carefully designed to deliver the best performance, the greatest amenity and the most useful functionality, whether it’s used when you’re commuting, touring or just trying to squeeze into a tight parking space.

Our guiding principles are the same in every case: will it work, is it reliable and will it benefit the driver? If the answer is yes, then the technology or system in question will find a home in our cars.

TDI engine 

Volkswagen’s cutting-edge TDI engines with Diesel Particulate Filters feature Common Rail technology that injects precise amounts of fuel at extremely high pressure. This not only results in a cleaner burning engine – and years of hard-wearing durability – but exceptional fuel economy, impressive torque and compelling performance whatever the drive.

FSI engine 

With the FSI technology, fuel is injected directly into the engine’s combustion chamber. It’s a precise fuel injection at finely timed intervals to achieve highly powerful performance and efficient combustion.

DSG – Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) 

This highly advanced 6 speed transmission with electronically controlled clutch and gearshift pre-selects the next gear, so your gear change only takes 3-4 hundredths of a second. It means virtually no interruption to power, traction or acceleration – and a beautifully seamless driving experience.

4MOTION^®

An innovative all-wheel drive system that provides the best possible traction at all road speeds, in all weather and across all road conditions. Torque is delivered to the axle with best traction, maximizing grip, control and handling. The system is available with the Volkswagen CC V6 FSI.

BlueMotion Technologies

BlueMotion Technologies is the name we’ve given to a whole range of innovations and intelligent technologies engineered specifically for our cars – to make them powerful, fun to drive, fuel efficient and environmentally-friendly, all at the same time.

Start/Stop system

As we make the move from mobile phone to smartphone, some things remain constant – like the utility of a hands-free phone connection while driving. The Volkswagen CC comes equipped with Bluetooth as standard, so making and receiving calls while on the move is as safe as can be. It also allows audio streaming to let you listen to your favourite music without the inconvenience and distraction of cable connections.

Coasting function

While driving, as the driver’s foot is taken off the accelerator pedal the engine is declutched, allowing the vehicle to coast and roll over a longer distance. The momentum of the vehicle is used to save fuel with a foresighted driving style. When the brake, accelerator pedal or the gear selector lever is operated, the clutch is re-engaged and engine braking / drive takes effect. Coasting Function can be selected or deselected via the multifunction display settings. The gear selector lever is required to be in the D position to be functional.
